SAS Reclaims Position as the World’s Most Punctual Airline

Commenting on the recognition, the CEO stated, ‘Being recognised as the world’s most punctual airline in March, particularly amid the many challenges affecting global aviation, is especially rewarding. It is equally meaningful to see how the spirit of reliability and operational excellence that has defined SAS for decades continues to guide us forward.’

Strengthened Operations Through Disciplined Execution

March is traditionally a demanding period for Scandinavian aviation, characterised by rapidly changing weather conditions, late-season snowfall, and strong winds across parts of the region. In addition, ongoing developments in the Middle East introduced further operational complexities for airlines worldwide. Despite these challenges, SAS continued to deliver stable, reliable, and predictable services for its customers.

The strong performance in March reflects SAS’ broader efforts to enhance operational quality following its transformation programme. In recent years, the airline has implemented more rigorous turnaround procedures, strengthened daily planning routines, and improved coordination across departments. Together, these initiatives have contributed to greater operational predictability and a sustained focus on punctuality throughout the network.

As SAS enters its milestone 80th anniversary year, the airline remains committed to investing in operational excellence and customer experience, reaffirming its long-standing reputation for Scandinavian reliability, precision, and care.
