The airline launched its new First Class service at the end of March, followed by updated Business, Premium Economy, and Economy Class services on May 6, 2026.

As part of its 100th anniversary celebrations, Lufthansa says the redesigned onboard concept reflects its ambition to further strengthen its position as one of Europe’s leading premium airlines. The updated experience focuses on offering guests more choices, flexibility and thoughtfully designed moments of comfort throughout the journey.

Across all cabins, passengers can expect upgraded tableware, refreshed menus, and more personalised service elements. Lufthansa noted that the enhancements were developed using feedback from more than 9000 guests and represent one of the airline’s largest investments in the onboard premium customer experience.

One of the standout improvements is the enhanced breakfast service in Business Class. Previously, meal options were limited, but guests can now choose from three breakfast selections, alongside coffee, juices, and wellness shots. Lufthansa also plans to introduce a traditional coffee-and-cake service onboard in the future.

Premium Economy has also received a significant upgrade, including a Business Class-style appetiser, a choice of three hot main choices, warm bread service, pastries or cake, and an expanded beverage selection. For that little extra touch of comfort, travellers will now receive cozy slippers.

Meanwhile, Economy Class passengers will now receive amenity kits for the first time, featuring a sleep mask and earplugs. Adding to this are new and modern tableware and printed menus. The beverage selection is being significantly expanded as well. On flight longer than 10 hours, Economy guests will not have three hot meal choices instead of two.

Overall, Lufthansa says the new service approach is designed to provide guests with freedom of choice, greater personalisation, and a travel experience designed to better suit individual preferences and travel styles.
